Poroshenko promised to sign the law on quotas for the use of the Ukrainian language on TV

The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has hinted that he will sign the law adopted by Parliament on the introduction of quotas on using the Ukrainian language on television. About this he wrote on his page in Facebook.

“So, the Ukrainian language on Ukrainian TV! PS: does Everyone understand that the law will sign it?” – President wrote on his Facebook page on Tuesday.

The President also reminded about the positive experience of introduction of similar quotas on radio.

“I took into account the positive experience of radio. Guaranteed rights neuroinvasion. At the level of regional and local channels in Russian and other languages recorded 40% of the air. Took care of the Crimean Tatar (language. – Ed.)”, – added Poroshenko.

As reported today, may 23, the Verkhovna Rada endorsed a bill on quotas of Ukrainian language, binding to increase its share on the Ukrainian TV channels to 75%.
