President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that during the Eurovision song contest-2017 the Council will make the final decision on visa-free regime for Ukraine.
About this Poroshenko said in his address on the occasion of the official launch of the international song contest “Eurovision-2017” in Kiev.
“Coincidentally, but became deeply symbolic that in the days of the Eurovision song contest, the Council will make the final decision on visa-free regime. Remember this date – June 11. From this date the citizens of Ukraine will get an opportunity without visas to travel across countries of the European Union. This is the first tangible result of the reforms taking place in Ukraine for the past three years”, – said the President of Ukraine.
As previously reported, the Committee of permanent representatives of the EU on 26 April approved the granting of a visa-free regime for Ukraine.
We will remind, earlier the European Parliament voted for granting Ukraine visa-free regime. This decision was supported 521 MEP.
