Canada should support Ukraine and other neighbours of Russia in order that the aggressor is not a new territorial ambitions. This was stated by the Deputy of the Federal canadian Parliament from the opposition New democratic party Randall Harrison, reports UKRINFORM.

“Sanctions against individuals in Russia responsible for human rights violations, should be strengthened. To our sanctions lists should also make those people about whom we have information on Commission of corruption actions. We are disappointed that the government is moving slowly to such changes in the sanctions list. We certainly would support such a move,” explained Harrison.
Harrison also stressed that Canada must simultaneously put pressure on Russia in many ways.
“If Canada will not play this role, for example, (refused – ed.) to lead the battalion in Latvia and stop supporting Ukraine, Russia will only have the courage to further territorial ambitions and human rights violations,” concluded the canadian Deputy.
Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Canada Chrystia Freeland said that the canadian government condemn the illegal annexation of Crimea by Russia and stressed the importance of maintaining international pressure on Moscow, as well as the preservation of sanctions against her until then, “while Russia will not respect international law and sovereignty of Ukraine”.
