Ukraine will expand cooperation with the EU: Poroshenko told about the plans

Ukraine intends to further deepen cooperation with the European Union for the development of the state in the future – membership in the EU. This was stated during a meeting with representatives of domestic and foreign business community in Kiev, President Petro Poroshenko, reports a press-service of the head of state.

“We will expand our cooperation with the European Union. I believe that we can enter the Schengen Union. I believe that we can enter into the customs of the European Union. I believe that we can enter into the common energy Union. Believe that Ukraine will be a member of a common aviation area,” he said.

He noted that these steps will be implemented before Ukraine will receive a membership in EU and NATO.

One example continue deepening cooperation of Ukraine with the EU the President called the support of its initiative for the abolition of roaming charges for Ukrainian citizens in the EU.

“The initiative that I launched exactly a year ago on roaming for Ukrainian citizens to the EU, two days ago was supported by the European Parliament and has already entered into a draft document for the Summit of “Eastern partnership”, which will be held this autumn in Brussels,” – said the head of state.

We will remind, on September 12, the European Parliament proposed to abolish roaming charges in mobile communications between the European Union and Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia, to create a trust Fund for investments in Ukraine and may impose new sanctions against Russia.
