The Ukrainian footwear producers will receive preferences from the European Union. Pre-October 1 will be cancelled the duties on exports of Ukrainian shoes (shoes with rubber and plastic sole duty will cancel later than 1 January 2019 — Ed.) in the EU countries. This was stated by the Deputy Minister of economy, trade representative of Ukraine Nataliya Mykolska in an interview Liga.net.
“It is expected that the decision will be officially published at the end of September 2017,” said Gaina and added that benefits will be valid for three years. Shoemakers will be able to increase exports to the EU by about 20%, but the first results will be visible only after a year, predicts Mykolskiy.

As you know, footwear export from Ukraine to EU countries is increasing. If in 2015 the manufacturers put on the European market of goods for 151 million dollars in 2016 164 million dollars. For five months of 2017, the company has exported footwear to 73,8 million. and by the end of the year the supply volume could exceed last year’s figures.
Recall, 4 July the European Parliament voted to give Ukraine additional trade preferences for duty-free export of some products. Preferences are imposed for a period up to three years. On 17 July the Council of the European Union adopted the temporary trade preferences for Ukraine.
