Ukraine is a leading defender of the countries-members of NATO, that the Alliance is grateful to her. This was stated by Vice-President of the NATO parliamentary Assembly Rasa juknevičienė at the meeting in Tbilisi (Georgia), RBC-Ukraine online reports.
She noted that NATO should be grateful to Ukraine for protecting the borders of the Alliance, which is “actively implementing the European and democratic values in the Eastern expanses of the European Union.”
“And we clearly understand that protection of our countries starts from Ukraine. For that very grateful,” said Jukneviciene, speaking to the head of the Ukrainian delegation to NATO PA Irina Frieze.
As stated by Irina Friz, Ukraine has achieved significant results in the reform of the defense and approaching NATO standards. According to Frieze, the Euro-Atlantic choice of Ukraine is more apparent.
