In the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) said it has suspended practical cooperation with Russia because of the aggressive behavior of Russia in Ukraine. About it the press-Secretary of NATO Oana Lungescu wrote on Twitter, reports UNIAN.

“Today is the 20th anniversary of the Founding act between NATO and Russia. Our dialogue is not easy, but it is important,” said Lungescu.

According to her, despite claims by Russia that its aggressive actions against Ukraine led to the suspension of cooperation with NATO.

“The dialogue continues”, – said the press Secretary of the Alliance.

As reported, NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg has repeatedly said that the Alliance maintains a unified position towards Russia is a strong defence, combined with the support of the dialogue.

The founding act on relations, cooperation and security between the Russian Federation and the North Atlantic Treaty Organization was signed on 27 may 1997 in Paris.
