Theresa may refused to wear a headscarf during a visit to Riyadh

Prime Minister Theresa may has ignored the instruction of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of the United Kingdom and refused to cover his head with a handkerchief during a visit to Saudi Arabia, reports The Independent.

According to the newspaper, experts of the Ministry advised Mei to wear the traditional Arab dress and headscarf. However, the Prime Minister said he was not going to follow the local tradition. “I hope that people will see me as a leader and understand what a woman can achieve”, — quotes the head of the Cabinet paper.

As the newspaper notes, in the case of the laws of Saudi Arabia there is no article requiring foreigners to wear a hat. However, guests of the Kingdom, as a rule, try not to break the strict Muslim customs.
