The United States could withdraw from the UN Council on human rights – media

The administration of us President Donald trump is considering withdrawal of the U.S. from the Council on human rights (HRC) of the United Nations. On Saturday, February 25, reports the American edition of Politico, citing two sources that support contact with current and former officials in the administration.

According to Politico, the immediate release of the international human rights body, apparently, should not wait. The final decision on this issue should be taken by the Secretary of state, Rex Tillerson, the U.S. permanent representative to the UN, Nikki Haley and the head of the American state.

According to Politico, Washington is dissatisfied with the position of the HRC regarding Israel, as well as being in the Council of States, whose governments are accused of human rights violations.

The next, 34th session of the UNHRC will be held from 27 February to 24 March.
