Georgia will not give Ukraine Chernivtsi Prosecutor’s office

The Georgian Prosecutor’s office has not received demands from the General Prosecutor’s office about the arrest and extradition of the former mayor of Kiev Leonid Chernovetsky, who is accused of malicious abuse of official position. This is stated in the said in the Main Prosecutor’s office of Georgia.

The message was spread Wednesday, July 26, in response to information that a Kiev court issued a warrant for the arrest of ex-mayor of Kiev.

“In case of receipt of the request for arrest and extradition of Leonid Chernovetsky in Ukraine, it can’t be done since Leonid Chernovetsky is a citizen of Georgia and its transfer to third countries is unacceptable,” – said the Prosecutor’s office.
