To resolve conflicts with neighboring countries because of the new law “On education” of Ukraine must obtain a rating of the document to the Council of Europe or the Venice Commission. This was stated to journalists by the Ambassador of EU in Ukraine Hugues Mingarelli, UNIAN reports.
He believes that the dispute between the two countries need to conclude as soon as possible.
“We hope that this conflict or this situation will be resolved very quickly. The best way to do this, for Ukraine, will be to appeal the assessment to the Council of Europe or the Venice Commission. I understand that the Minister of education of Ukraine (Liliya Hrynevych) will visit Strasbourg on 6 October to discuss this issue with Secretary General of the Council of Europe (Turbina) Jagland,” said Mingarelli.

The diplomat hopes that the Ukrainian authorities will be taken the right steps to normalize the situation with the law.
“And I hope that they (the representatives of the Ukrainian authorities – ed.) will formally request an assessment of the Council of Europe or the Venice Commission, and then I am sure that the Ukrainian authorities will take the necessary steps in order to reassure everyone,” said Mingarelli.
Recall, September 5 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the education reform, which is based on the law “On education”. September 25 Poroshenko has signed the corresponding law.
Earlier dissatisfaction with the education law was expressed by Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Russia.
In turn, the Minister of education and science, Liliya Hrynevych said that Ukraine is ready to send to the Council of Europe for examination the language article of the law “On education”, to confirm the absence of violations of international obligations.
