The U.S. is interested in Ukraine’s accession to NATO. This was reported to journalists by the speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Andrew Parubiy in Washington after a meeting with the Chairman of the Committee on defence and speaker of the house of representatives of the us Congress Paul Ryan, transfers “112 Ukraine”.
“They have a deep understanding and support of Ukraine on its path to NATO and I offered, knowing that the path may take several years, so as an intermediate step we have signed a bilateral security agreement between the U.S. and Ukraine. Promised that this idea will be considered by the committees in the analytical groups, but I can say for sure – our us colleagues support the direction of Ukraine’s integration into the Euro-Atlantic space and incredibly interested in this,” he said.
Recall, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that Ukraine’s rapprochement with NATO is a threat to Russia’s security.
