This delicate lemon cake collect all your pet at the table for a family tea party. With the addition of a grated dried peel it is incredibly flavorful.

After baking, the cake is covered with sugar fondant. You can decorate it with sprigs of mint or of rosemary, and candied lemon slices.

Ingredients:

For the dough:

  • 100 g of sour cream 20%
  • 50 g butter
  • 200 g flour
  • 1 lemon
  • 2 eggs
  • 100 g sugar
  • 10 g vanilla sugar
  • 1 pinch of salt
  • 1/3 tsp turmeric
  • 1 1/2 tsp baking powder

For sweet:

  • 5 tbsp icing sugar
  • The juice of half a lemon

Method of preparation:

  • Beat eggs with sugar, a pinch of salt and vanilla sugar until a lush light weight.
  • Add the soft butter, sour cream, zest and lemon juice. Beat with a mixer.
  • Flour, turmeric and baking powder, mix, sift in the dough and stir with a spatula until smooth.
  • Put the dough in the form greased with vegetable oil. Flatten and bake 35 minutes at 170 ºC.
  • To check readiness of a wooden skewer. Allow to cool for 15 minutes, then get it.
  • How to decorate a lemon cake

    Once the cake has cooled, it is necessary to pour fondant. In order to do this you need to mix 2 tbsp of lemon juice with the icing sugar until thick. All ingredients should be at room temperature.
