Mars has provided assistance to Ukrainian physicians and children with special needs

The total amount of charitable aid of Mars Ukraine and Royal Canin Ukraine amounted to 1 330 000 UAH

In the framework of the fight against coronavirus COVID-19 Mars Ukraine and Royal Canin Ukraine, which are divisions of the world-famous Mars, provided charitable assistance to doctors and medical staff of the Kiev regional children’s hospital, doctors of veterinary medicine, as well as 53 children with special needs.

Doctors and medical staff of the Kiev regional children’s hospital will receive more than 30 thousand units of personal protective equipment, including masks, hazmat suits, respirators and much more. Partner companies in this project was a charitable Foundation “Patients of Ukraine”.

Also Mars has provided Ukraine PPE kits and food for the 53 children with disabilities, which included not only food, sweets for the children and their parents, but also food for Pets living in these families. The company has a few years to care about these children, supporting various charity events held for them and their families, as well as promoting the principles of an inclusive society.

“We are grateful to Mars Ukraine for the assistance provided to children with disabilities, their families and even their Pets! This assistance is especially valuable in this difficult period, when parents do not always have the opportunity to buy the basic necessities for their children,” says Alexandra Pasivni, member of the Board of the charitable organization “Family”.

Additionally, the company Royal Canin Ukraine bought 4.5 thousand units protective flaps for the transfer of veterinary doctors from different cities of the country. This will support both the safety of the doctors who save the lives of cats and dogs and pet owners attending the clinic.

The total amount of charitable aid of the two companies in the framework of this social project in Ukraine amounted to 1 330 000 UAH. It became part of the global initiative of Mars to combat coronavirus COVID-19 for the implementation of which the company has allocated 20 million USD.
