The AMC is interested in the jump in gasoline prices in Ukraine

The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine (AMCU) to start to deal with the increase in fuel prices at filling stations of Ukraine. This was stated by the head of the Antimonopoly Committee Yury Terentyev.

The AMC began to request information from the Ministry of energy and coal industry, as well as to study the situation on the market of light petroleum products to determine the cause of the rising prices of gasoline and diesel at many filling stations.

“We track this trend and see how the prices. According to preliminary information, in part due to a stop at the overhaul of Mozyr oil refinery (one of the largest refineries in Belarus, fuel which is imported to Ukraine – Ed.). Now we request information from the Ministry, but we also conduct parallel actions on a deeper study of this situation,” he said.

Terentyev said that any price increase there are objective reasons and subjective factors, such as the expectation of the traders of growth in input prices.

We will remind, in Ukraine the price for fuel has increased – the most popular 95-octane gasoline and diesel at most gas stations has risen in price most of the hryvnia.
