Poroshenko and Trudeau discussed the progress of reforms and peacekeeping mission in the Donbass

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko discussed during a meeting questions of the UN peacekeeping mission in the Donbas and Ukrainian reforms.

“Together with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau we had a very good and productive discussion of a broad range of areas in which Ukraine and Canada are truly exceptional partners,” he wrote on his Facebook page on Friday evening.

Poroshenko presented the vision of Ukraine in the sphere of security and defense with new initiatives.

“Today, I introduced the vision of Ukraine on how we can establish partnerships in the field of security and defense with new initiatives. I believe that the UN will become a real breakthrough in the peace settlement. In this endeavor, the experience and advice of our canadian friends would be very useful for us.

The leader of Ukraine stressed the importance of international assistance Canada Kiev.

“Together with the Prime Minister we talked about the progress of reforms in Ukraine. And I appreciate that Ukraine remains a priority country for international aid of Canada”.

Poroshenko thanked Canada for supporting Ukraine.

“We are grateful to Canada, which remains one of the leaders in support of Ukraine, which we value so highly,” wrote the President.

We will remind that during working visit on September 22-23, Poroshenko will meet with the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau, Minister of foreign Affairs of Canada Christ Freeland and representatives of the canadian parliamentary and business circles.

Also, the President will participate in the opening ceremony of the “Games of the unconquered”, where the first will be the national team of Ukraine.
