Israel’s Parliament is not likely to take a declarative decision on the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people. This was stated by the Minister of environmental protection of Israel, the head of the intergovernmental Commission for the development of international relations between Ukraine and Israel Zeev Elkin.

According to the Minister, in Israel, questions related to the interpretation of historical events, as a rule, are not submitted to a political decision, as it does not correspond to the parliamentary tradition of Israel.
“Israel’s Parliament, believes that the past should be resolved not by politicians but by professionals as part of professional discourse. So I don’t think it would take some declarative solution for the famine is heavy tragic pages in the history of certain peoples,” – said Elkin.
