After another round of scandal with Russia the approval rating of Donald trump reached a 70-year low

A survey The Washington Post/ABC News, which put the rating of trump on the historic 70-year low, came amid growing controversy over Russia’s interference in the elections of 2016.

On Saturday it became clear that the Committee campaign, trump made a payment to the law firm representing the elder son of the President, nearly two weeks before it became known about the meeting between trump Jr. and the Russian lawyer who promised incriminating information about Hillary Clinton.

The approval rating of trump now is 36%, which is six points below its first ranking with a rating over 100 days. The survey showed that 48% believe that America’s leadership in the world became weaker than it was before the coming to power of the billionaire, while support for the Republican plan to replace Obamacare was only 24% compared to 50% who support the policy of health set by former President.

Trump, who spent the weekend at his private Golf club in Bedminster, new Jersey, tried to downplay the significance of the findings. Sunday morning on Twitter he mistakenly said that “almost 40% [of approval] at this time is not so bad,” and that the survey was “almost the most inaccurate for all time of elections!”.

In fact, a poll by The Washington Post/ABC was the closest to predict the outcome of the popular vote on election day — which Hillary Clinton won by a margin of 2.5 million votes: the trump was in the White house thanks to the electoral College. No President has ever received such a low level endorsement at this early stage of his tenure since the beginning of the polls in 1945.

The survey also showed that 63% of people found it unacceptable meeting in June 2016 between senior members of the inner circle of trump, including Donald trump, Jr. and son-in-law Jared Kushner, with a group of Russians, including the lawyer Natalia Veselnitskaya.

On Saturday, the Finance report of the campaign filed with the Federal election Commission, showed that the Committee’s campaign trump June 27 paid $50 Grand to a lawyer for trump, Jr., Alan Futerfas, 13 days before “The New York Times” reported about this meeting.

By trump told reporters Wednesday that he learned about the meeting of 2016, which took place in trump tower, “only two or three days ago,” thereby increasing the likelihood that the campaign Committee could know about the contact to the President.

On Sunday, the lawyer trump J. Sekulow appeared in all five television talk shows in a questionable attempt to justify a meeting. Sekulow, it seems, accused the intelligence officers that they allowed the Russians to go to the trump tower.

“I wonder why intelligence — if it was malicious why intelligence allowed these people to enter?”, — he told ABC News. “The President was the protection of the secret services at the moment and that is causing me issues”.

The press-Secretary of intelligence later confirmed that trump Jr. was not under the protection of the Agency during the meeting, “so we have not tested those with whom he met.”

Under pressure “The New York Times” trump Jr. this week published the ill-fated e-mails, which he readily accepted the offer, which he allegedly said was an attempt by the Russian government to hurt the Clinton campaign.

Email promoter Rob Goldstone tells his son the future President that “Russian Prosecutor General has offered to provide campaign trump some official documents and information that will hurt Hillary, will cause suspicion because of her relations with Russia, and will be very useful for Your father.”

“The New York Times” reported that trump has denied the first statement of his son the “Times”. How soon revealed that this and subsequent statements do not convey a full picture of events.

The meeting was attended by Kushner, a senior adviser to trump, and also the head of the campaign by Paul Manafort. On Friday it became clear that there was also attended by Rinat Akhmetshin, the Russian-American lobbyist and former Soviet military officer.

On Sunday morning, trump expressed on Twitter more explicit support to his eldest son.

“Hillary Clinton may illegally obtain the questions for the debate and to remove 33 thousands of letters, and on my son laugh media with fake news?” — wrote the President. Trump has previously called the political scandal surrounding his son’s “greatest witch hunt in the political history”. “Sad!” — he said, adding that anyone would agree to such a proposal.

Speaking to reporters on the plane on Thursday, the President said that the 39-year-old Donald, Jr., “a great guy”. “And he had a meeting, nothing happened. It was a short meeting, he told me, because I heard about it two or three days ago,” he added.

In the financial statements of the Committee’s campaign trump also reported that they paid $89 thousand “legal consulting” Trump Corporation, headed by Donald trump Jr. and his brother Eric.

On Saturday it was announced that trump has hired Washington lawyer Ty Cobb as a special counsel in the Russian investigations conducted by the judiciary and intelligence committees of the Senate and special Prosecutor Robert Mueller, former FBI Director, appointed after trump fired his successor James Comey in may.

Apparently, the President realized that the investigation will continue for several months or even years of his tenure.

On Sunday morning he wrote on Twitter: “Thanks to all the supporters who yesterday, at the women’s US Open was much more than the protesters. Very cool!”

The Golf tournament, which meant trump, was held at his club, where, according to reports, members pay up to $100 thousand for membership.
