The US state Department warned Americans to travel to the Crimea and the Donbass fraught

The U.S. Department of state continued recommendations to avoid Americans visits annexed Crimea and in the occupied territories Donetsk and Lugansk region of Ukraine. This is stated in the official message of Department published on Tuesday, reports UKRINFORM.

“The U.S. Department of state warns American citizens about the avoidance of all travel to Crimea and Eastern regions (of Ukraine – ed.) – the Donetsk and Lugansk”, – the document says.

Thus, the state Department continued to warn about the danger of travelling in these regions, which operated from December 14, 2016.

“The separatists controlled by the Russian authorities continue to control the territory of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, where violent clashes killed more than 9 thousand people”, – stated in the message.

This emphasizes the danger of “regular artillery and rocket attacks” in the area of the dividing line.

“Individuals, including U.S. citizens, have been threatened, detained or kidnapped for hours or days after stopping the separatist checkpoints, and one US citizen, who worked in the Special observation mission of the OSCE in Ukraine, was killed in uncontrolled government area of Donetsk region”, – have reminded in the state Department.

Recall that about a week ago on the territory controlled by the so-called “DNR” Yasinovataya militants fired and brutally attacked the observers of the Special monitoring mission (SMM) of the OSCE.
