The Russian foreign Ministry reacted to the decision of the Verkhovna Rada to take the course to join NATO

The prospect of Ukraine joining NATO will lead to a tightening geopolitical challenges in the Ukraine and around it, said state Secretary, Deputy foreign Minister Grigory Karasin, reports “RIA Novosti”.

“This perspective will lead to a tightening geopolitical challenges in the Ukraine and around it. And thinking not only in Kiev but also in European capitals, in Washington,” said Karasin, commenting on the decision of the Parliament, which determines the membership of Ukraine in NATO, the purpose of foreign policy of Kiev.

The Verkhovna Rada at the plenary meeting on Thursday, June 8, adopted in whole draft law №6470 “On amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine (regarding the foreign policy of Ukraine)”.

The document provides for the return of Ukraine’s course for NATO membership.
