The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko congratulated his Georgian counterpart Giorgi Margvelashvili with the independence Day of Georgia and expressed confidence that his upcoming visit will promote the intensification of the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries. “Please accept my sincere congratulations on the occasion of the independence Day of Georgia. The significant progress made in reforming the country, consistently operating within the European and Euro-Atlantic integration and sustainable development of friendly relations with States of the world contribute to the growing reputation of Georgia in the international arena”, – said in a letter to Poroshenko in the name of Margvelashvili.
The President of Ukraine noted that Ukrainians are grateful for the unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the country and contribution to the struggle of the Ukrainian people against Russian invasion. “In turn, Ukraine has consistently stands on the side of Georgia in defending the independence and rejection of her occupied territories”, – he stressed.
The Ukrainian head of state noted that both countries share friendly and strategic partnership relations established during the years of independence.
“I am confident that our meeting during my scheduled visit to Georgia will give a substantial impetus to the further strengthening of dialogue at all levels and the intensification of the multifaceted cooperation between the two countries”, – said Poroshenko.
He also wished the Georgian President strong health and new successes in your responsible state activities, and the Georgian people peace, harmony and prosperity.
