The United States and Russia agreed to establish a working group to stabilize bilateral relations. This was stated by the Secretary of state of the United States Rex Tillerson at a press conference with the foreign Minister of Russia Sergey Lavrov. “We agreed to establish a working group to resolve those issues that require immediate action to stabilize the situation,” said Tillerson, reports RT.
According to him, “the current state of Affairs is at the lowest level, and the level of confidence was at a low point”.
At the same time Sergey Lavrov expressed hope for the resumption of the work of the joint presidential Commission of Russia and the United States.
“The presidential Commission was buried — I hope she is subject to intensive care in one form or another — President Obama, but the channels for the review of problematic issues in bilateral relations we plan to set up irrespective of a more umbrella structure”, — said Lavrov.
Earlier, Tillerson said about the need to stop the degradation of relations between Russia and the United States, noting that “needs to restore confidence among countries in order to resolve the issues that are important to everyone.”
