Trump wrote a letter to the President of Latvia

The President of the United States Donald trump assured Latvia’s support and intention to continue to remain friends and allies. This is stated in a letter to the American leader to the President of Latvia Raimonds Vejonis, the press service of the head of the Latvian state.

In the letter, trump said that the United States will continue to support Latvia in the framework of the Alliance in NATO.

“I highly appreciate the intention of Latvia to allocate two percent of its gross domestic product on defense, which is a good example for the allocation of costs between allies. I also appreciate the participation of Latvia in the missions ensuring security and fighting terrorism in Afghanistan and Iraq. I’m a true admirer, as Latvia regained its independence and was transformed into a prosperous democracy. Today, I’m proud I can confirm once again that the United States will remain a steadfast friend and ally of Latvia,” – said in a letter to the President of the United States.

In addition, the President of the United States, as a former businessman, raised the issue of business cooperation between the two countries.

“Latvia has done much to improve its business environment, as evidenced by Latvia’s accession to the Organization for economic cooperation and development in July last year. I hope that we will be able to use these significant developments to strengthen our economic cooperation,” – said trump.

The American leader also thanked the residents for their basketball player who plays for his favourite basketball team.

“Let me as a fan of the “new York Knicks” (NBA, ed.), to say that I appreciate very much the contributions of an NBA star Caspar Porzingis from Latvia,” – said in the letter.
