Poroshenko told about the negotiations with Canada for the provision of weapons

President Petro Poroshenko said that the negotiations with Canada on providing arms to Ukraine in its final stages. He said this during a meeting with Ukrainian Diaspora in Riga, transfers “UKRINFORM”.

The President noted that the Ukrainian Diaspora in Canada, greatly promotes the cooperation between countries.

“I signed the law on ratification of the Agreement establishing a free trade zone between Ukraine and Canada. Canada is now our Minister of defense (Stepan Poltorak. – Ed.). We conclude – with the strong support of our community – negotiations on the supply of us weapons. And we continue, with our canadian partners, joint exercises,” – said Poroshenko.

As reported, Petro Poroshenko has signed the Law of Ukraine “On ratification of the Agreement on free trade between Ukraine and Canada”, adopted by the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine of March 14, 2017.

Earlier, opposition member of Federal canadian Parliament from the opposition New democratic party Randall Harrison stated that Canada should support Ukraine and other countries-neighbours of Russia in order that the aggressor is not a new territorial ambitions.
