Ukraine and Israel have agreed to the end of the year to complete negotiations on the free trade Agreement

Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman held a phone conversation with Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu. This reports the press service of the Ukrainian government.

During the meeting the parties discussed priority issues of bilateral relations, particularly in trade and economic sphere, in science and technology, education and culture.

The Prime Ministers agreed to complete before the end of 2017, the negotiation process on concluding a free trade Agreement between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the government of the state of Israel.

Following the meeting an agreement was reached on holding in may this year the official visit of Prime Minister of Ukraine to the State of Israel.

Recall, Ukraine and Israel planned to conclude negotiations on the free trade zone at the end of 2016. However, the negotiation process continued in 2017.

According to the Ministry, the main items of Ukrainian exports to the State of Israel are cereals – 44,1%, ferrous metals – 26,4%, food industry – 9,8%. Major items of imports from Israel to Ukraine – petrochemicals (41,4%), chemical products (17,4%), plastics and polymeric materials (7.1 percent).
