Ukrainians first of March will have to pay 25% more. Experts in the field of energy efficiency are sure that the increase in tariffs – the reason to think about saving energy. Revising its consumption and setting dual-zone counter, to pay for the light can be 30-60%. “Today,” found out how much the electricity from the first of March and how to save the world.
How much we pay for electricity after March
Most Ukrainians spend electricity to light incandescent bulbs for a month can burn up to 100 kWh. For example, if the apartment burn five lamps (in the kitchen, bathroom, toilet, hallway and in the room) several hours a day for a month can accumulate to 65.2 kWh of electricity. Second place among the most energy-consuming appliances is the refrigerator. Dependent on the class of energy efficiency, for a month he can burn about 30 kWh.
By the first of March of this year for this amount of power had to pay 195 UAH, after the first of March the amount in the payment will increase to 251 of the hryvnia. The decision on the increase of light was made by the national Commission, carrying out state regulation in the energy sector (NKREKU) and komuslug in 2015. Before the first 100 kWh of electricity cost at 71.4 hryvnia (71.4 penny per kWh) each kilowatt cost 1.29 USD. From the first of March the first 100 kWh cost 90 UAH, and every next – 1.68 USD.
Price increase the first of March – the last phase of the tariff increase provided for by resolution of the national Commission No. 220. In 2014, 300 kWh of electricity for Ukrainians was about 110 hryvnia, and today – 426 UAH. As explained in the national Commission: to rise in price low rate for the population is compensated for by excessive tariffs for industry, now the Commission intends to raise the price of the light to the level of economically justified prices.
If the activists who identified themselves as veterans of military action will not stop the blockade of Donbass, electricity could rise by 20-25%, said the Minister of energy and coal industry Igor Nasalik. Part of the plants burn anthracite coal, which is mined only in the occupied territory. Buy this coal at 1,700 UAH per ton, if instead of having to buy anthracite coal in the Donbass, Ukraine will have to import it, for example, from South Africa, for a thousand cubic meters, according to the formula “Rotterdam+”, have to pay 3200 hryvnia, the Ministry of energy and coal industry.
Expert of National ecological center Anna Shumeyko sure that electricity tariffs for Ukrainians should rise to the level of its real value, however, the procedure of formation of tariffs should be transparent and understandable.
“We really did not know the real cost of energy. The state subsidized, on the one hand we were cheaper, but on the other hand we never understood why we have to save. And we came to the conclusion that our country for many years on all counts one of the most energy efficient in the world. The process of raising rates was to occur, a stimulus for the economy. But the tariffs are still not 100% transparent and here is a separate discussion,” the expert believes.
How to pay less
The electricity price hike, experts believe, is another incentive to think about saving. Virtually any family, having reviewed its consumption, may spend 25-30% less. You can start with simple steps, explained by a professional energy auditor, Manager, DTEK ESKO Sergei Svistun, for example, to replace light bulbs in the apartment to energy saving.
Energy efficient bulb will save about 80 hryvnia. The lamp power of 0.022 kWh you can buy for 98 USD. To replace all the bulbs in a Studio apartment (for one lamp in the kitchen, in the bathroom, the hallway and the bathroom and three in the chandelier in the room) will need 686 USD. If the lamp power of 75 W in the hallway for two hours a day, in the toilet – an hour in the bathroom 3 hours in the kitchen – 5 hours in the room – 6 hours per month only for “light” typed 65,2 kW. At the same time, energy-saving lamps will spend in the same conditions 19 kWh. Changing all the lamps in the apartment, every month you can save 77,5 UAH, the purchase will pay for itself in 9 months.
Anna Shumeyko notes: the first is to install energy efficient lamps in places where you are most often. In addition, you should think about installing a lamp with a motion sensor in the stairwell and vestibules. “First and foremost, the replacement of incandescent lamps with energy-efficient provides the most obvious result of the economy. Is that really immediately evident in the payment,” – said the expert.
To correctly choose a new fridge and washing machine. Modern refrigerators and washing machine with energy efficiency class “A” and above consume much less electricity. In addition, you need to know how to use technique: to select the optimal wash cycle, use the car only after he had accumulated a sufficient number of dirty things, and a fridge to put in a cool and dark place.
How to choose a location for your refrigerator:
- Refrigerator is better not to put in the recesses (the distance from the walls should be about 20 cm)
- The refrigerator should stand away from the plate and batteries
- The refrigerator should not be exposed to direct sunlight
“The refrigerator should not be overloaded, in such a situation it pererastaet electricity. You need to monitor it periodically razmarivaet. Of all the devices that we have in the house, the refrigerator really consumes a lot of power, runs round the clock and you need to follow in order to use them correctly,” says Anna Shumeyko.
Dual-zone meter will save up to 25% of the electricity. Dual counter from 23 PM to 7 am believes electricity at the rate of two times lower. This meter installation will cost around 1400 USD. For example, a family that consumes 200 kWh of electricity and 25% of the world uses, from 23 p.m. to 7 a.m., every month can save the 42nd hryvnia. Consequently, dual-zone meter will pay for itself in about three years.
“A dual-zone meter is a big plus, we are able to save, if consumed a lot. At night there is some failure in the power system that need support. When you consume electricity during the night and not during peak stress when all come home, turn on the light, prepare. If its consumption is good for the consumer and for the system itself,” says Anna Shumeyko.
Ideally, if in a month will be able to consume up to 100 kWh this amount of electricity you can pay at a lower rate. According to Sergei Svistukha, listening to these tips, you can consume 30% less energy. And if the switch to energy efficient appliances and install-zone counter – saving can reach 60%.
“Together with the whole family explore the payment system for electricity. Consider what appliances you use, how much they consume, how many in the apartment of incandescent bulbs. Define your family as a responsible energy Manager, which would monitor the use of electricity and was responsible for her savings. This will serve the students,” advises Sergei Svistun.
