In two years, 170 thousand Ukrainians have received Russian citizenship – Gerashchenko

During the Russian aggression in Ukraine 170 thousand Ukrainians became citizens of Russia, and the status of refugees received about 350 people. Reported about it in Facebook the Deputy speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Iryna Gerashchenko.

“We managed to put the squeeze on and get the RF information with respect to those citizens of Ukraine who received Russian citizenship and refugee status. According to notes of the Russian foreign Ministry, in the period from 2014 to 2016, Russian citizenship was granted to almost 170 000 citizens of Ukraine in 2014 – 24 141 people, in 2015 – 67 400, for 9 months of 2016 – 75 497” – wrote Gerashchenko.

She noted that the Russian side did not indicate exactly how many citizens of Ukraine from Donbass received Russian citizenship, as it implies that the vast majority of this figure is Crimean, which forcibly made “Russians”.

The politician also not spared of refugees from Ukraine in Russia. So, this status in Russia for 2,5 years of war has received about 350 Ukrainians in 2014 – 240 people, in 2015 – 84, in 2016 – 31 people.

Recall, as stated by Iryna Gerashchenko, Ukraine is not going to change Crimea to Donbass, also will not refuse from any site.

As it became known, ten former fighters of the disbanded special forces “Berkut”, who are accused of crimes on the Maidan, received Russian citizenship.
