Putin refused to comment on the agreement with Turkey for truce in Syria

Russia and Turkey are in constant contact on the subject of a possible meeting on Syria in Astana. This was reported to journalists the press Secretary of the President Dmitry Peskov.

He did not comment on reports from Turkish media about the fact that Moscow and Ankara have agreed on a comprehensive ceasefire in Syria. “I can’t answer this question, do not have enough information,” – said Peskov.

“Indeed, there are ongoing contacts with Turkish colleagues, which discusses the different modality of the possible dialogue, which is scheduled in Astana. All this is in line with the search for a political settlement in Syria”, – concluded the representative of the Kremlin.

Earlier, the Minister of foreign Affairs of Turkey Mevlut Cavusoglu said that prepared two agreements on Syria. One relates to a political settlement, another cease – fire.

It was reported that Turkey and Russia agreed on a comprehensive ceasefire, which will be presented to the parties to the conflict in Syria. “After the agreements on a truce in Eastern districts of Aleppo and further evacuation of opposition fighters, and Ankara and Moscow have agreed on a plan that provides for the extension of the truce to the whole territory of Syria,” – said in the message.
