The President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent the Governor of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen in his resignation. Temporarily the acting head of the Republic of Karelia Putin has appointed Arthur Parfenchikov, born in Karelia.
It is accepted that governors voluntarily resign. The khudilainen would agree to it, but only on one condition: if after retirement he was offered the place of Ambassador in Helsinki and head of the Trade representation of the Russian Federation.
