The Governor of the Karelia Republic dismissed — does this mean that Putin is preparing for elections next year?

The President of Russia Vladimir Putin sent the Governor of Karelia Alexander Khudilainen in his resignation. Temporarily the acting head of the Republic of Karelia Putin has appointed Arthur Parfenchikov, born in Karelia.

It is accepted that governors voluntarily resign. The khudilainen would agree to it, but only on one condition: if after retirement he was offered the place of Ambassador in Helsinki and head of the Trade representation of the Russian Federation.

However, he received a negative answer. The weekly “Profile” says that foreign Minister Lavrov has spoken out against.

The dismissal suggests that Putin was dissatisfied with the work Khudilainen. The Kremlin assesses the work of governors according to three criteria: economic development, the Governor population, and the confidence of the Federal authorities − the police and tax authorities.

At the end of five years the Kremlin has divided all 85 of governors into three groups: weak, average and successful leaders. The gun was recovered was in the first group.

The Chairman of the opposition party “Yabloko” Emilia Slabunov also believes that during the governorship Khudilainen indicators of Karelia has decreased in all parameters. The unemployment rate of 8% is the highest in the North-West of Russia.

About the bad economic situation is also reflected in the debt area. Currently, he is 22 billion rubles, while the annual income is 30 billion. Most of the debt of the Republic of Karelia was formed during Governor Khudilainen. This year the debt of the Republic of Karelia will increase.

Common people also do not trust Khudilainen. People respect a leader when their welfare is growing.

The khudilainen couldn’t even separate government money to resettle people from dilapidated housing into new apartments, for which he received a reprimand from the President.

One of the problems Khudilainen are constant quarrels with the leadership of Petrozavodsk. They say that all the leaders who were angry with him, left the country or are in jail.

Therefore, it is no coincidence that in the ranking of evaluation of the work of the governors last year he is 85.

The resignation of Judilynn shows that the leaders who came from other places, bad root in Karelia. Maybe that’s why Putin has appointed the new Governor of the indigenous residents (Khudilainen is a native of the village Zlobino Tver region — approx. TRANS.).

Arthur Parfenchikov was born and raised in Karelia. After receiving a law degree, he returned to Karelia and was promoted to public Prosecutor of Petrozavodsk. Time will tell, will he justify the expectations of Putin.

In addition to Judilynn, this year Putin sacked five governors. Putin’s press Secretary says that we are talking about common rotation, and not “cleaning” of the governors.

Experts still believe strongly that we are talking about a “purge” ahead of presidential elections next year.
