Phone Scam recently often try to deceive Ukrainians, talking about non-existent promotions and payments to elicit the secret card data. This was reported by the Interbank Association of members of payment systems EMA.
Sensitive card data is that we cannot tell anyone ever:
- the validity of the card;
- three-digit security code from the back of the card, or the CVC2/CVV2 code;
- the password from the SMS from the Bank.
Using this information, the scammer gains access to the Bank account of the customer, and may dispose of his money.

These three schemes, from the point of view of a specialist, are the “classics” of telephone fraud. Many customers immediately recognize a fraud. But, nevertheless, the damage from fraud, including telephone, in 2016 amounted to 339 million.
According to estimates, more than 90% of telephone criminals start a conversation with, that call themselves employees of a Bank (sometimes even employees of the National Bank of Ukraine).

Most often, the scammer says the customer’s card is blocked, and the map data need to unblock. In this case you need to interrupt, and then call your Bank (the phone number of Bank listed on the card and on the official website of the Bank). In 99.9% of cases with a map all right. But a real employee of the Bank under any pretext will not ask confidential data of the customer card.
