Honey export from Ukraine in January-June 2017 in comparison with the first half of last year has grown almost twice – from 15.2 thousand tons to 29.6 thousand tons. This was reported by the consultant of the Food and agriculture organization of the UN (FAO) Anna burka, transfer “Ukrainian news”.
“Half year results for the recent market of Ukraine: exports of honey – an absolute record of 29.6 thousand tons, or 51.8 million dollars. The TOP 3 buyers: USA – 18.9 million dollars, Germany – $ 10 million Poland – $ 5,6 million,” – said Burke.
According to FAO, over the same period last year Ukraine exported 15.2 thousand tons worth $ 30 million, and in the first half of 2015, exports of this product stood at 13.4 thousand tons in the amount of 32.8 million dollars.

“The United States continues to lead among the countries – buyers of Ukrainian honey, and this trend will continue. To meet rising consumer demand, the U.S. only provides 30% of own-account production and over 70% are due to imported supply,” – said the expert.
We will remind, as of June 9, 2017 Ukraine has exhausted the quota for duty-free shipments to the European Union in nine kinds of products: honey, corn, sugar, barley groats, wheat, processed tomatoes grape and Apple juice.
