The prices for early cabbage for a week has fallen by almost 1.5 times, and the downward trend is intensifying every day, according to “info-SHUVAR”.
As of 20 April, the economy of the Western regions offer the young cabbages at a price of 18-19 UAH/kg. a Week ago the price was formed in the range of 23 – 26 UAH./ kg.
According to the manufacturers, and the growth of early cabbage in Ukrainian farms is delayed due to cold weather. Therefore, the products is now worth 20 – 30% more than a year ago.
However, the pressure on the market every day is enhanced by increasing the supply of early cabbage due to the massive supplies from the southern regions of the country and Macedonia.
Today on the wholesale markets of Ukraine Macedonian cabbage is offered at a price of 20 UAH. / kg, which is much cheaper than the week before. In the farms of southern regions of Ukraine the price of cabbage has slipped to a 14 – 16 UAH/ kg.
We will remind, during the year the crop production in Ukraine rose by 8.2%, and livestock production – by 23.2%.
