Irina Vereschuk defeated in the primaries by a large margin

The people’s Deputy of Ukraine Iryna Vereschuk defeated in the primaries by a large margin and goes on elections of the mayor of Kyiv “public Servants”.

This was announced by President Vladimir Zelensky after a meeting with deputies of the faction “servant of the people”

Voting results:

  • Irina Vereschuk – 87;
  • Alexander Dubinsky – 41
  • Nikolay Tishchenko – 30
  • Alexander Gurin – 15
  • Alexander Kachura – 3.

Now Vereschuk heads the Subcommittee of the Verkhovna Rada security and defense. And before that was mayor from 2010 to 2015 ruled the city Rava-Ruska in Lviv oblast.

“In the post Irina Vereschuk stated the need of decentralization of power, carrying out administrative-territorial reform in Ukraine, transfer of taxes to local communities”, – says the press service of the party “servant of the people”.

We will remind that earlier the Council changed the Electoral code and the elections in Ukraine will take place in new ways.

The document stipulates that national and local elections in Ukraine can be extraordinary and regular: a regular local are held simultaneously all over Ukraine’s territory (excluding occupied territories); early local hosts in the event of early termination of powers of individual local authorities and/or village, town and city heads. Extraordinary local elections, the intermediate, first, by-elections are held twice a year – the last Sunday of March and the last Sunday of October. In the year of the next local elections, all local elections are held every year on the day of the next local elections – the last Sunday of October.
