Zelensky was awarded the first President Kravchuk became a knight of the order of Yaroslav the Wise

The President presented awards on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the Declaration of sovereignty of Ukraine

President Vladimir Zelensky, who took part in the solemn meeting of the Verkhovna Rada, presented the order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of first degree over its predecessor, the first President of independent Ukraine Leonid Kravchuk.

He also noted the state awards of people’s deputies of previous convocations Anatoly Matvienko (posthumously), Nicholas Vorovskogo, Alexander Barabash and Miroslav Motyka, announced in the President’s Office.

The presidential decree stated that the awards “for significant personal contribution to nation-building, the construction of independence of the Ukrainian state, active public and political activities and on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the proclamation of the Declaration on state sovereignty of Ukraine”.

The first President Leonid Kravchuk received the order of Prince Yaroslav the Wise of I degree and became a full knight of the award.

MP For the Supreme I, III – VI, VIII convocations Anatoly Matvienko (posthumously) and MP I, II and IV convocations Nikolay Perovskogo awarded the order of Freedom.

In turn, people’s Deputy of the first convocation Oleksandr Barabash was awarded the order “For merits” of I degree, and Miroslav Motuc – the order “For merits” III degree.

It is worth Recalling that President Vladimir Zelensky, in a speech at the ceremonial meeting of Parliament, urged MPs to stop “quarreling and strife”.
