Neither mers nor any other causes not now threaten bezviz for Ukraine
In connection with the coronavirus pandemic, many are wondering what will happen to bezveza for Ukraine, as European countries are beginning to revise its visa policy. However, the Deputy head of gendirektora of the European Commission for neighbourhood policy and enlargement Catarina Maternova assured that Brussels did not even raise questions about the revision of the visa-free regime with our country.
She said this in an interview with “European truth”.
According to her, neither mers nor any other causes not now threaten bezviz for Ukraine.
“I have never heard in Brussels, even discussions about this. Visa-free regime with the epidemic is not connected. In the end, even if logically – as a restoration of the visa regime would help in combating the epidemic? The European Commission carries out an annual review of compliance with the terms of visa liberalization, and we can pay attention (States whose citizens travel without a visa. – Ed.) on some indicators, but in relation to Ukraine was not even grounds for such a discussion. And, again, there is no connection between the visa liberalization and the current crisis”, – said Mathernova.
Recall, the ambassadors of the European Union’s Eastern partnership policy discussed the document, which dealt with the dissatisfaction of European countries the results of the visa liberalization. Vice Prime Minister on European and Euro-Atlantic integration Vadym Prystayko in an interview with “Today” said that he sees threats that bezviz for Ukraine will be complicated.
In turn the Ukrainian experts previously given forecast, will there be problems for bezveza of Ukraine due to the coronavirus. They say that the European Union is likely to impose restrictions on movement in Europe after the pandemic.
