To Amazon Prime released film “Julie blue” about contemporary Ukraine from American Director with Ukrainian roots
In the center of the plot – the love story of photojournalists and military from ATO
The film “Julia blue”, shot by Director of Ukrainian origin, toporovych, is streaming on Amazon Prime in the US and the UK. This is the first American independent art film shot with the participation of Ukrainian actors and crew. The story takes place in the aftermath of independence in 2014, when in the East of Ukraine started the war.
The plot of the movie is a touching story of love talented photojournalists and volunteers from Western Ukraine, and the military from ATO with psychological trauma caused by the war.

The toporovych arrived in Ukraine in 2014 and visited the Maidan. The Director decided for a year to move to Ukraine to find that real life in the country different from the one told her. The shooting of the film took place in Kiev and one of the villages in Lviv region for 22 days. The film lasts 1 hour and 28 minutes.
The main roles in the film played by Pauline Snisarenko, Dmitry Yaroshenko and Victoria Soot.
The film has received recognition at many international film festivals. At the International film festival Sonoma 2019 and the Woodstock film festival the film won the best Director award. At the International film festival long beach international film festival Film Mystic 2019 won in the category “Best foreign film”. Also, the film won awards at the film festival in the Cambrian 2020, the International film festival anchorage, and several others.
