Military assistance of Canada to Ukraine: Muzhenko announced details

Ukraine expects Canada to take important political decisions regarding the provision of military assistance. This was stated by chief of the General staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko as a result of his visit to Canada, reports UKRINFORM.

“What we need, requires appropriate policy decisions. This question hangs in the air, and we hope that soon it must come down to earth and materialize,” – said Muzhenko.

He also noted that talked about the provision of military assistance to Ukraine with the chief of the defence Staff of Canada, General Jonathan Vance. According to him, Canada took time for processing requests of Ukraine.

“I had a bilateral meeting with the chief of the defence Staff of Canada, during which we discussed the provision of assistance by Canada in all directions, including psychological rehabilitation and increase the number of canadian forces personnel conducting in Ukraine training on this issue. We have proposed some areas of cooperation, they will handle it and tell her how many people will be able to increase its mission in Ukraine. We also agreed on the issues that relate to increasing the capacity of the APU,” – said the chief of the General staff of Ukraine.

We will remind, in 2016, Ukraine has received from Lithuania 146 units of lethal weapons development and production of the former USSR. In turn, the Minister of defense of Lithuania Raimundas Karoblis told what weapons gave Ukraine.

Today the issue of supply of lethal weapons from the United States “hung in the air”, as American politicians and, in particular, the President of the United States has not adopted the relevant decision.
