Russia sent to the UN security Council resolution on peacekeepers in the Donbas

The Russian Federation has sent to the UN Security Council a draft resolution on the deployment of peacekeepers on the demarcation line in the occupied Donbas. This was stated by Russia’s permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzia, reports TASS.

“Today we have submitted a corresponding draft resolution to the President of the Security Council and the UN Secretary General. I hope that in the near future it will be distributed to members of Council,” – said Nebenzia.

We will remind, Russia is trying to distort the very idea and purpose of peacekeeping operations, said the foreign Ministry of Ukraine. Official Kyiv stressed that the peacekeeping mission should also take control of the Ukrainian-Russian border.

Earlier the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that he supports the presence of UN peacekeepers in the Donbass, however, they must reside only on the boundary line.
