UN Secretary-General antónio Guterres welcomed the agreement on establishment of ceasefire in the East of Ukraine in connection with the beginning of the school year and called on all parties to the conflict to abide by it.
“The Secretary-General welcomes the intention of the parties to abide by a permanent ceasefire in the East of Ukraine in connection with the beginning of the school year. He stressed the need to ensure that the cease (fire – ed.) was stable, and urges all parties to comply fully with its provisions”, — reads the statement of the representative of the Secretary General Stefan Dujarric.

We will remind, earlier, Merkel and macron called on heads of state of Russia and Ukraine Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko to fulfil their commitments on ceasefire in the Donbass.
“We demand from President Putin and President Poroshenko to implement fully their commitments publicly and clearly to promote and ensure the ceasefire, and to ensure the transfer of appropriate instructions to the military and local forces,” – said in a statement.
