The chief of the General staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko discussed with his Polish counterpart Leszek Zurawski the possible threats from the Russian-Belarusian exercises “West-2017”. They declared it at a briefing following the talks, reports ZIK.
As reported, the military discussed the possible threat from Russian-Belarusian exercises “West-2017” and has developed an action plan in case of unexpected situations.

“At our meeting we discussed questions of military cooperation with the Polish side. In particular, we have already raised Polish instructors to train Ukrainian military”, – said Viktor Muzhenko.
Earlier it was reported that on 30 August in Lviv will host the border meeting of chiefs of General staffs of Armed forces of Ukraine and the Polish army.
“West-2017” joint doctrine of the Armed forces of Russia and Belarus, scheduled for the period from 14 to 20 September this year. According to official data of the Russian Federation, the exercise will be attended by up to 13 thousand troops, according to Western analysts, up to 100 thousand.
The Ukrainian military leadership has repeatedly stressed that the upcoming exercises can serve as a cover for more aggressive actions from the Russian side.
