The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko welcomes the statement of the Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel and President of France Emmanuel Makron ceasefire in the Donbass. About it the head of state wrote on his page in Facebook.
“I welcome the statement by the leaders of Germany and France with an urgent appeal primarily to the President of Russia as the aggressor country and the parties to the conflict to ensure full respect of the ceasefire in connection with the beginning of the school year”, – stated in the message.

Poroshenko stressed that he had instructed the leadership of the APU to continue to adhere to the declared mode of silence.
“This topic, among others, were discussed during my meeting with the military leadership in Kramatorsk,” – said the President.

“The ceasefire on the occasion of the beginning of the school year must purchase a comprehensive manner, create favorable conditions for moving the peace process with the aim of restoring sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine”, – said Poroshenko.
We will remind, earlier, Merkel and macron called on heads of state of Russia and Ukraine Vladimir Putin and Petro Poroshenko to fulfil their commitments on ceasefire in the Donbass.
“We demand from President Putin and President Poroshenko to implement fully their commitments publicly and clearly to promote and ensure the ceasefire, and to ensure the transfer of appropriate instructions to the military and local forces,” – said in a statement.
