Oil and gas company Royal Dutch Shell announced a halt Europe’s largest oil refinery because of a fire at an electrical substation, writes “Kommersant”.
“Shell is in the process of closing all facilities on the territory of the plant”— leads AFP words of the representative of the company.
According to him, the resumption of the work may take up to several days.
We will remind, a fire occurred at a substation at the plant in Rotterdam in the Netherlands on Saturday evening. By Sunday morning, the fire was localized.
Shell Pernis is the largest refinery complex in Europe and one of the largest in the world. Daily the plant processes 416 thousand barrels of crude oil, 800 tanks, the refinery is able to simultaneously accumulate 5 billion litres of fuel.
