Scientists: sugar Substitutes proved to be more dangerous than expected

Long-term use of artificial sweeteners as alternatives to sugar can cause diabetes, heart disease and other negative health effects, said experts from the University of Manitoba in Canada.

We are talking about sweeteners such as aspartame, Sucralose and stevioside.

As explained by experts, the tests showed that artificial sweeteners effective in preventing excess weight. But there was established a frightening link between the consumption of sugar substitutes and a high risk of obesity, diabetes, heart disease, high blood pressure.

“Given the widespread and popularity of artificial sweeteners along with the current epidemic of obesity and related diseases, more research is needed to more accurately determine long-term risks resulting from the consumption of sweeteners,” said Dr. Meghan Azad from the University of Manitoba.
