Providers who do not block “Vkontakte” and “Yandex” want to be fined 1% of annual income

For unlimited access to restricted resources on the Russian Internet providers will be fined 1% of their income for the preceding calendar year. This is stated in the bill number 6688 “to counter threats to national security in the information sphere”, reports “European true”.

If the provider after the first penalty will be seen for repeated violation – a fine will increase to 5% of the revenue for the entire previous calendar year.

Also the bill says that ISPs must purchase special equipment for blocking websites and monitoring traffic.

Recall, may 16, 2017, President Petro Poroshenko signed a decreethat enacted the NSDC decision about updating list of sanctions against some Russian companies, including the social network “Vkontakte” and “Classmates”, as well as the company “Yandex”.

Earlier it was reported that users will not be punished for the use prohibited by decree of the President of the Russian networks.
