Brexit will not change the position of the UK in Ukraine – Johnson

A British exit from the European Union will not change the UK position regarding the support of Ukraine. About it the Secretary of state for foreign and Commonwealth Affairs of the United Kingdom of great Britain and Northern Ireland, Boris Johnson said at a joint press conference with Prime Minister of Ukraine Volodymyr Groysman in London as part of the International conference on reforms in Ukraine.

“We may leave the EU, but we’re not leaving Europe. And we will continue to be actively involved not only in Ukraine, but also (in the case. – Ed.) along the entire periphery of the European Union,” said Johnson.

According to him, the consequences of Russia’s actions and its policy of revenge did not go unnoticed in Britain.

“The United Kingdom is the second country that has made the greatest contribution to NATO,” Johnson added, remembering the placement in the East of Europe powerful military forces in the framework of the decision on the strengthening of the Alliance presence in the region.

We will remind, Boris Johnson also announced the availability of signals that anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine isn’t going fast enough. “There is a clear signal that anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine stalled,” said Johnson.

However, the British foreign Secretary noted the progress of reforms in Ukraine in the last three years.
