After the completion of Brexit, Ukraine and Britain will begin negotiations on establishing a free trade area (FTA) between the countries. This was stated by Prime Minister Vladimir Groisman during a meeting with British Prime Minister Theresa may, reports 112.ua.
According to him, the trade turnover between Ukraine and Britain could reach $ 3.5 billion.
“During the meeting we touched upon the issues of deepening of our economic cooperation. If we look at the trade between our countries this year, slightly more than $ 2 billion, in fact, the potential could be $ 3.5 billion., given that the UK has decided to withdraw from the EU, the so-called Brexit, we need to talk about the new principles of our economic cooperation. I raised the question and found support to the fact that we started a consultation on approaches for establishing a free trade zone with Britain,” – said Groisman.
As is known, Ukraine and Canada agreed to free trade zone, which comes into force on 1 August this year.
