During the visit to France the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a meeting with Chairman of the French Senate Gerard Larcher. About it reports a press-service of the President.
As reported, the sides discussed prospects of strengthening bilateral inter-parliamentary cooperation. The President of Ukraine expressed hope for further support by France of the European aspirations of Ukraine.
The President of the Senate, in turn, welcomed the ratification of the Association Agreement and visa-free regime with the European Union.
Separate attention was paid to the situation in the Donbass as a result of Russian aggression. Poroshenko informed Larcher on systemic violations of Minsk agreements by Russia and stressed the need to comply with the sanctions regime against the Kremlin.
In response, the Chairman of the Senate expressed support for the continuation of sanctions against Russia. The President of Ukraine invited a group of French senators to visit in the near future Ukraine and see the situation in the Donbas.
At the same time Poroshenko stressed the inadmissibility of the unauthorized trips of the French deputies at the local level on the territory of the occupied Donbas and Crimea annexed by Russia.
Poroshenko also invited Larcher to visit Ukraine on a visit at a convenient time.
Recall, Poroshenko has called the conditions for the execution of all items of the Minsk agreements.
