“Cynically and deliberately”: Klimkin responded to Putin’s trip to Crimea

The Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine expresses its decisive protest in connection with another inconsistent with the Kyiv visit of the Russian delegation headed by President Vladimir Putin in occupied Crimea.

The text of the official commentary was published on the website of the MFA of Ukraine.

“The Ukrainian side considers the mentioned visit and the other “visits” of Russian officials in the temporarily occupied Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol a grave violation of state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, cynical and defiant disregard of the Russian party of the generally recognized norms of international law”, — stated in the message.

The foreign Ministry stressed that we are talking in particular about the violation of the UN Charter, resolutions of the UN General Assembly “Territorial integrity of Ukraine” and “the State of human rights in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and Sevastopol”, as well as about the violation of the obligations under bilateral and multilateral treaties to which parties are Ukraine and Russia.

“The foreign Ministry of the Russian Federation was sent a note of protest”, — summed up the Ukrainian Agency.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on Saturday, June 24, went to the occupied Crimea to visit the international children center “Artek”. In particular, the Russian President got acquainted with the results of the reconstruction of the infrastructure of the children’s center “Artek” and inspected the progress of works on building of the camp “Sunny”.
