The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko said that next week the leaders of the Normandy Quartet to hold talks over the phone. He said this during a joint statement with President of the European Council Donald Tusk on Thursday, June 22, in Brussels.
“We are preparing for telephone conversations in the Normandy format at the level of leaders next week”, – said Poroshenko.
The President noted that, in addition to the phone conversation in “channel format”, July 13, will host the summit Ukraine-EU in Kiev, and earlier, on June 26, will take his official visit to France where will take place the first meeting of Poroshenko with his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron.
“As you can see, this is a very important week for Ukraine, for Europe and, we hope for peace in the East of my country,” he said.
We will remind, Poroshenko said that the European Union had pledged to extend sanctions against Russia.
